Your thoughts on Marmoleum?

Never heard of it before yesterday, when I stumbled upon it while googling ideas for my bathroom floor, but I'm thinking I want to try it. I ordered samples to see what it looks and feels like.

Anybody know anything about it? Used it? Know anyone who's used it?

I did a report in grad school about lineoleum and it's a very good eco-flooring material. no personal experience, though.

I like the whole mural floor tiling method they used in a few of the pictures. Reminds me of the bthroom in the Newton house they did on This Old House. Except that thing was retarded decadence ;)

If you want, you should come down to Bluehouse and check out our selection. I don't handle flooring, so I can't answer specific questions about it, but the showroom staff is really knowledgeable, and won't mind answering your questions even if you might go with another supplier. Plus, you'll get to see bigger panels of it.

Interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind for when we're ready to do the bathroom and kitchen floors.

(And when I read the name, I thought it would be linoleum made of marmite, and I kinda thought, ew, sticky!)

Also, the kind we have is the Click, which comes in 12" x 12" squares or 12" x 36" rectangles. It snaps together, and all that's needed is a saw to trim larger pieces. We don't deal with the roll out kind.

I've never knowingly seen it in person, but it's pretty popular here in Portland, and when houses have it, the real estate agent always makes sure to mention it in the sell sheet.
