I got the basic idea from AntiCraft, but decided the little pewter bats were twee and that less is more.

Here is the bracelet I made at WM, under the tutelage of the chain maille artisans of Rhovanion. Because I totally needed to learn another craft, particularly one involving tiny pieces to be spilled and scattered all over the carpets of my messy house.

Tonight I finished the Walking After Midnight skirt and it came out much smaller than I thought it would. The pattern note says the fabric grows when blocked and worn. We'll just see about that. I had to stretch the hell out of it while blocking to get the proper dimensions.

for [livejournal.com profile] ranger_hotsauce's birthday present, I made the flogger from Naughty Needles.

This was very easy and fun to make. It took less than an hour and one spool (fifty feet) of macrame cord, with some left over.

I figured that macrame might be a good way to use some of the really nice yarn leftovers that aren't substantial enough to knit anything with. I started practicing last night. It's really fun, more satisfying than tatting. You just have to keep telling yourself "over, under, over, under."

No finished macrame objects yet, but if you're jonesing to see something, here's a sample I knit up with some silk-wool chunky blend using the Oyster stitch on size 10 needles.

Here is the Swallowtail Shawl from the Fall '06 (I think) Interweave Knits. Made with Morehouse Merino laceweight wool in Mermaid and trimmed with blue glass beads.

Actually, I finished it last November, but just got around to blocking it yesterday

also, I finally finished my Fanning the Flames mittens:

made with Shaeffer Anne yarn and size 1 needles

I love them. Especially the cuffs.

These were crocheted in a matter of minutes using a very small amount of worsted-weight wool (dyed with Koolaid) and a size K hook.

Seriously. It took longer to upload the picture to Flickr than it did to make the pair.

yeah, I knit a Jayne hat.

I am rather proud of it, though. It came out well. I used Paton's Classic Merino Wool, one skein Paprika and two skeins Winter White; four packets of orange kool-aid for the orange and eight packets of lemonade kool-aid for the yellow.

I used this pattern, more or less, except I cast on 80 stitches, did the 2x2 rib with size 8 DPNs and the rest with size 10, and double-stranded the yarn.

Pictures of the scarf for the United Way auction!

Recognize the yarn? It's the Dancing Leaf Alpaca I got at Sheep & Wool two years ago.
