So whenever I start thinking maybe I ought to retie my Nerve profile and cast it back out on the waters to see what nibbles on the line, I hear this little voice telling me that whatever it is I'm looking for, that's not how I'm going to find it.
Or, more accurately, how it's going to find me.
The cosmos provide, what you need and when you need it; looking at the big picture, they haven't let me down yet.

Date: 2005-01-27 04:05 pm (UTC)i just feel like internet dating is all about one click- you and them on the first date. and if it doesn't work out you'll never know why and you're sposed to just go on to the next one instead of figuring out if you were just nervous or they just met the love of their life last week or are secretly married.
which isn't really that realistic.
bah.

Date: 2005-01-27 04:17 pm (UTC)life isn't about one click.
you know, I think about the friends I've made on the internet, and it's completely different! No pressure, no expectation, no one shot deal; you're just happy to know them and simply enjoy their being.
I mean, what if I got out to Brigantine Beach and decided I didn't click with you all and never spoke to any of you again?

Date: 2005-01-27 04:29 pm (UTC)ugh, i also think the overall 1 on 1 ness of dating is what makes it fucked up. the only good people i've met from the internet have been forum situations so you can take your time getting to know them and there's no pressure.
i guess i should have met my lover in high school. oh well.
