So yeah, I had a great time with my pretty new iPod for about half an hour, but then I tried to load some more songs onto it and something went horribly wrong. I kept getting error messages and red X's saying they could not read or write to the device for an unknown reason. It was the unknown reason part that got me; I mean, if they couldn't tell me what was wrong, what hope was there in fixing the problem? I rebooted, restored, reinstalled ... to no avail. I tried calling Apple support, then tried calling Dingo ... nobody was home. I finally decided to return it to Amazon and get a new one and start all over again.
The problem with things that are too user friendly is that when something goes wrong, you can't make it right without violating the warranty.
