random thought about Rosa Parks

Something that occured to me this morning in the bath ...

They always say that the Civil Rights Movement began when Rosa Parks refused to give her bus seat up to a white man.

But what of that white man? Who was he? Does anybody remember his name?

Seems to me he had a part in this as well, and as such deserves a footnote in history.

I started reading Female Chauvinist Pigs last night.

Good stuff.

It states very cleary and eloquently what I've been thinking all along: that self-objectification in the name of sex-positive feminism is utter bullshit.

You treating other women, or yourself, like a piece of meat isn't any better than Larry Flynt doing it.

Anybody else read it? What do you think?
