I just read that story in January, and for the life of me, I can't remember any Mormons in the story. I guess I'll reread it.

I wonder if there's some Catholic vs. Mormon thing?

I love Flannery O'Connor. Ironically so much so that I've only read a handful of her stories myself, becase I kept buying her books as presents for other people too boorish to lend them back to me...
