Hum-n-Hug - Mysterian Music Lovers gather here for on the spot original music creations where myriads of musical instruments hang from the ceiling to walk up to and play. Come grab a Guitar, Djembe, Flute, Fiddle or about a hundred other music making devices and jam. HnH returns to their Narnia digs for T07.
Phorida Phambly
Eat Drink and be Sharey - At Transformus we always enjoy sitting around while eating and drinking and catching up with fun stories from our friends, often the most fun occurs when unknown Mysterians come into camp and share. We want to encourage this idea in Eat, Drink and be Share-y by providing a fun and relaxing place for Mysterians to relax, drink and share their gifts with anyone present. All of our camp members will be encouraged to think of a gift from their life they can share - things like special cookies, tea, a craft of some kind, prayers, or even a lesson from a class they teach. We have some building projects planned (which we'll burn Sunday) so bring your tools. Join us for a relaxing and enlightening time.
Scattered Pilgrims/ Caffeine Station - We’re pilgrims, on a journey driven by the spirit to live out the will of God, Scattered is fitting, coming from all over, different churches, different backgrounds. Meals, music, prayer, church on Sunday, and loose leaf tea will be offered.
Kundalinii Express Camp - We are a camp of yogis and spiritual people who offer Kiirtan (spiritual chanting) sessions, music, meditation instructions and yoga classes.
Elders Camp - Native American and other spiritual cultures value the wisdom gained through years of experiencing life. They honor the role that "Elders" play in their society...keepers of the history, the memories, and the mythology of their forefathers. Elder's Camp will be for those who have been walking their paths a bit longer than most Mysterians... those "39 year and some-odd monthers" who desire to flock with "birds of a feather!" We will envoke the spirits of "all our relations" into Elder's camp and create sacred space. This TRIBAL COUNCIL will ritualize a Native American practice where the youth and young adults can come and ask ANYTHING of their elders and get a thoughtful answer...free of any parental judgment or guilt. An inner circle of elders--warriors, healers, leaders, crones and sages-- will face outward to a circle of maidens, braves, and children, in short, the future of Transformus. Questions may be asked, answers will be given; insights and lessons, shared and learned. Remember, the only stupid question is the one not asked! We welcome dialogue, debate, and discussion and look forward to sharing and learning from one another!!

Camp SCIENCE! will explore the wonderful world of science! All day long we will be performing experiments on the effects of beer on livers. Come see guest lectures by visiting professors of burnination! See a creationist debate a dinosaur! Watch various life forms do battle in the slime wrestling pit!

The Willy Wonka Experience - The Willy Wonka Experience has traveled from afar in a new and improved Wonkavator! Come and try all of our wonderfully delicious experimental treats, straight from Wonka Labs. Marvel as you take a trip in the mysterious Wonkavator, transported to realms undreamt of while never seeming to move.
Intergalactic House of Pancakes - Sunday morning there will be a major feast at the IHOP in Eden. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, shrimp and grits, omlettes, etc etc etc. Bring an appetite, a plate and utensil, and a smile.
The Turkish Delight - Come wash your cares (and grime) away at the Turkish Delight bath house where our bath attendants offer the gift of delightful cleanliness. Bring your own water (1 gal.) and towel. Feel free to stay and relax in our pillow lounge. Be sure to check out This Camp's Website
Bubble Camp will offer bibble babble bubbles of basic buffoonery, including performance poetry, acoustic music performances and, of course, various bubble projects and toys and gifts of every kind. We will also be offering skills exchanges such as hooping and poi lessons in conjunction with the Ripe and Juicy camp and the Philosopher's Stone camp.
Ripe-N-Juicy - The Ripe and Juicy Camp is a collective of artists, actors, dancers, yogis, faeries and generally loving beings. Our mission is to spread love and healing through random acts of kindness and creativity mixed with a bit of the ol’ sexy-sexy. Look for our mini practice and play workshops including Tribal Mid-Eastern dance, poi, and hoop as well as the Ripe and Juicy watermelon parade for an afternoon refresher of alcohol filled fruit transported through time and space by the luscious, titillating, sultry, and studly residents.

The Bracelet Station - Since one of the main principles of burning is the act of gifting, what better way to fulfill this principle than by creating and gifting a colorful beaded bracelet made by YOU? It’s simple—make a bracelet and gift it to a fellow Mysterian. And who knows, you may receive one in return! Our bracelets are not only fun to wear, but are incredibly fun and easy to make. So this year, let a bracelet symbolize your Transformus experience. The Bracelet Station is open to Mysterians of all ages and all artistic abilities.

Radical Faerie Camp - Many Radical Faeries are queer men, and we also include men who prefer to use any other moniker to describe themselves, as well as women who are Radical Faeries because they just feel they are, plus people who choose not to be called men or women, and beings who choose not to be called people. Faeries are organized as a group attempting to create community out of ritual and cooperation, except for faeries who are attempting to create community out of subversion of process and structure, as well as some faeries who wish to create chaos, often celebrating it, often not admitting it. (loosely adapted from the classic definition written by Constance Craving).

Rocksteady - Smell patchouli burning? Hear a soft steady reggae riddim? It sounds like you’ve stumbled into camp Rocksteady. Come in, take a load off and jam with us for a while! The Rocksteady crew will be on the mountain in full effect making sure there’s always a place to rock out proper style! Boh!
Der Loge Baphomet - The Baphomet Lodge (Est. 1314) is a celebration of Life, Life, and More Life!! In honour of our Templar forefathers, we will eat the lamb and kiss the goat for all Life is pure joy. The word of Sin is Restriction. Damn because for the dog that he is. Philosopherz Stone - Wander to Elysium Fields, hang out in some hammocks and ruminate on your existence in the universe of Mysteria. Listen to or share stories while you chew on your thoughts or perhaps on some yummy Swedish Pancakes - for which you can debate a wide variety of toppings! Mull over some spicy spiked mulled cider brewed in the Cauldron of the Prophesy of Decreased Inhibitions. Well-mannered arguments and confusing (il)logical discussions are frequently available! We¢d love to be told about your Transformed Revelations. New this year, share your talents or learn Poi, Staff, Hoops, Tribal Dance and other fun in our Chill Spin Skillz Exchange Area - which is being co-sponsored with Ripe and Juicy and with lots of help from others. It will be a place to come try out a new trick or help someone learn an old one, a place to get your groove on and chill out, a place to exchange skills, interests and ideas. There will be vaguely scheduled sessions for various art forms including poi, staff, double staff, hooping, tribal dance, and (almost) anything else anyone wants to organize. The Love Boat - This year the Love Boat will be docked at Bahama Mamas for your drinking and cruising pleasure. Captain Gizmo not responsible if Monkeypoo makes you walk the plank or exiles you to Survivor Island. With increased floatation installed, the Love Boat can carry up to 15 passengers. So gather your campmates together and come by for a cruise. Theme Cruises highly encouraged. We don't need no stinking schedules. Just come on by. Can't miss it. Look for a boat with a bed on it.

Camp Bahama Mamas- Jamaican Me Crazy - CBM and Jamaican-Me-Crazy is an island paradise. The Tiki Bar will be back and we're not afraid to get yourselves drunk! It's all about laid back island living. Pass the coconut rum, please....
The Shakti Unit - The Shakti unit is back again, bringing their message of bangra and tasty Indian Food to the isolated mountain people of North Carolina. Rangers eat free every nite from 6:00 to 8:30. Well-actually, everyone else eats for free too- But Rangers ... Rangers are especially welcome.
Hot Witch's Brews - That’s hot witches as in, gee I’m hot, I think I’ll go dip in the lake; or wow, that witch is hot - or hot witches brew as in, this tea is hot; or the hang over tea was a hot item on Sunday morning! Here you find witches of all kinds: faerie witches, kitty cat witches, crafty witches, green witches, hoodoo witches, celtic warrior witches, alchemy witches, gothic witches… all offering you a taste of our specialties. Possible potions include kava and damiana cordial, hang-over tea, wormwood tincture, woad or flying ointment. And dried herbs to concoct a tea, rinse, incense, or mojo potion for you. Camp Pornyata - To all of those who have said "That was a ball buster", to those who simply love to smack things, we welcome you to Camp Pornyata. Each afternoon (Friday-Sunday)we'll be whacking another body part to oblivion and enjoying the bounty it provides for days to come. So listen for the call and come playa with us!

S.O.S. (Science of Smoking) - Smoking in the Capital of Hookahstan will have a large, open, shared space filled with pillows, hammocks, and other relaxed seating. We'll be offering the use and enjoyment of our various hookahs, as well as finger foods, drinks, and nap space. Music and bubbles and smoke will be drifting out of our camp as we welcome all Mysterians who wander our way.
Fire Drums - A place where the bridge between drummers and fire dancers is made.. This is a zero tolerance camp for pre planning and egos bring your drum bring your fire gear and see what happens!

Our camp offers a lounge, dome, chill space with fire performance & dance area. We are known for being affiliated with some of the best Dj's in the United States.
Paparazzi Palace - Come by the Palace and be as daring as you care to be for the camera. We'll supply the lights and the camera, you supply the action. The Paparazzi are here to take your photos and create the 2007 Transformus photo badges, ready in just a couple of hours.

Tie-Dye Vikings - Landing on the shores of Mysteria, from the mist arises a band of tie-dye clad Vikings! What other kind of Viking would you expect in our fair city? This rowdy crew of heathens can be found either raiding nearby camps (all in good fun of course) or feasting in the halls of Valhalla. We come to pillage your women and rape your foodstores.. or something like that, we don't remember. Raise your drinking horn and it shall be filled with mead, at least while it lasts. And by then it's time to pillage some more. On the fields of the mountain our Valkyries shall gather Mysteria's heroic warriors worthy to join us in our revelry. We drink to many things: the Gods, our ancestors, our mightiest deeds - but beware what you say, your Toasts, Boasts, and Oaths are spoken in the presence of the Gods, and you are honor bound to your words! Dirty Southern Village (including Puzzled, Ho-me Wreckers Saloon, Land Far Away and more) - The infamous Dirty Southern Burners - loud, proud, and not afraid to get all kinds of nasty. WACK Radio Road Show presents Transformus WACK! (station number t.b.a.) Hosted by dmf… and RevDok, supported by numerous djs and guest speakers. From the moment you enter our space, you will notice the incense of Nag Champa lingering in the air and the indulgent vibrations of our sensual space. You will be lead into a sacred space to be lovingly bathed and gently dried to the sweetest freshness. Your thirst will be quenched with French champagne while you nibble on fresh strawberries and San Francisco chocolates. Your ears will be delighted to sweet music, and you'll have your choice from several masseuses. The heights of your eroticism will be stimulated in several different but delightful modalities.
Seeing a bigger now, your exploration zone widens to fully encompass the burn experience. You're life flashes before your eyes, and you come to the realization that there is a huge life delineation by attending your first burn. You can sum up everything by “things that happened before your first burn” and “things that happened after your first burn.”
ART INSTALLATIONS
Time Garden
Amos Gaynes & Joel Horne – Asheville, North Carolina
Our vision is to create an interactive environment based around an array of mysterious glowing fountains, arranged in a space which invites Mysterians to stay, play, and contemplate. The fountains will create a display of falling water droplets that appear to slow down, reverse, and even come to a dead halt in mid-air as the observer approaches. He or she can then play with this water droplet by, for example, slicing it in half with a twig or letting it splash off his or her fingers and observing the droplet’s effects as if it were frozen in time.
Re-Transformus Maze
Fiery Bitch Skunkworks – Decatur, Georgia
Each of us walks a path that seeks something that we define in our respective vocabularies as knowledge, inspiration, revelation and enlightenment. The Fiery Bitch Skunkworks aspire in this installation to simulate this shared, but individual search for inner meaning through an interactive creation that is part labyrinth – the search within ourselves – and part (re)birth experience – our search within the world. Walking the “Re-Transformus” maze will provide the willing Burner with the symbolic and simulated experience of the inner transformation that occurs through participation in our community.
Three Gates
Jeremy “Gilbot” Gilley – Asheville, North Carolina
Much like the Japanese Shinto tradition in which the red “Toji” gates delineate the boundary between the material world and the spirit world, I wish for these gates to behave as a mechanism to both revere and harness the sublime energies of what I feel to be some of Mysteria’s most magical locations. Each gate will be built to evoke the properties of a unique thematic identity. These gates will be built for transport and reuse, extending their relevance to any special spot where they may be embraced.
Miss Transformus Pageant
Stacycats – New York, New York
Not your mother's beauty pageant, this participatory exhibition of beauty and talent is open to women and men of any sexual preference and identity. Anyone can enter and anyone can win (plastic surgery, eating disorders, Vaselined teeth, and double-sided tape not required). In the end, everyone wins by participating, as no one can take away the title you give yourself!
Elemental Temple
“Dave the Rave” Wills – Charleston, South Carolina
Four columns tower over participants forming a temple based in unity and interaction. Each column will feature one of the four distinct elements: fire and air being outwardly reaching elements, reaching up and out, earth and water turning inward and downward. At night the temple comes alive as a gathering place filled with aural and visual creativity.
Community Theater

A team of Burning thespians are working together to provide a community theatre for Mysteria presenting a tryptique of magnificent shows for our fellow revelers to enjoy and participate in: The Legend of the Bacchae, Pandora’s Box, and an original work titled Mythos.
Sense Space
Talula Rachel – Austin, Texas
Sense Space is a place to explore the senses. This installation piece is a collection of things to discover: jars with various scents, instruments and music to stimulate the ears, a display with cut-outs to explore tactile sensations, and Burners of all varieties to see and experience your senses with.
Gateway of Delight
Stina Loewe – Asheville, North Carolina
Deep in the forest, large fabric panels hanging on bamboo poles are suspended by ropes and supported by trees. Hung in succession like tapestries with puzzle shapes removed, they are layered in space forming a three-dimensional visual puzzle. The journey through the installation creates a visual, textural, and sensual experience for the navigator. After passing through the panels Mysterians will encounter a large offering of the shapes that have been cut from the tapestries (pre-pinned with safety pins for easy attachment to one’s cloak). These pieces of fabric flags allow us to claim the shape of our experience and share it with others.
Waste Stream Dream
Jeannie Hacker-Cerulean – Chattanooga, Tennessee
"Waste Stream Dream" is an original interactive theatrical created for the Mysteria community at Transformus for 2007. The play has an environmental theme: simple change can make a big difference. Based on the idea of 'the butterfly effect' we hope to excite our audience and participants enough to support them in their small world environmental efforts. The Mysteria community can rehearse with us and join in our performance by dancing, drumming, hooping, parading, operating puppets, acting, wearing costumes and masks. Lower Lake Gateway
Katherine Bender – Marshall, North Carolina
Walking around the lower lake at Deerfields, coming from the dock towards the Pavilion, you approach a pointed tip of fabric that dives into the earth. 20 feet high and almost 50 feel long this gate is formed from fabric. Juxtaposed against the Blue Ridge Mountains that surround it, this gateway demarcates a transition between spaces; instigating a physical and mental passing through time and space.
Globes of Light
Danielle Bovee – Atlanta, Georgia
Imagine the branches of a tree, laden with glowing fruit; or rather, hung with iridescent spheres that sparkle during the day and emit multicolored light at night. No it’s not Christmas, these Globes of Light will be lit on Friday and Saturday nights in the apple orchard surrounding our Burn field at Deerfields.

Marvel as you take a trip in the mysterious Wonkavator, transported to realms undreamt of while never seeming to move.
Intergalactic House of Pancakes - Sunday morning there will be a major feast at the IHOP in Eden. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, shrimp and grits, omlettes, etc etc etc. Bring an appetite, a plate and utensil, and a smile.
The Turkish Delight - Come wash your cares (and grime) away at the Turkish Delight bath house where our bath attendants offer the gift of delightful cleanliness. Bring your own water (1 gal.) and towel. Feel free to stay and relax in our pillow lounge. Be sure to check out This Camp's Website
Bubble Camp will offer bibble babble bubbles of basic buffoonery, including performance poetry, acoustic music performances and, of course, various bubble projects and toys and gifts of every kind. We will also be offering skills exchanges such as hooping and poi lessons in conjunction with the Ripe and Juicy camp and the Philosopher's Stone camp.
Ripe-N-Juicy - The Ripe and Juicy Camp is a collective of artists, actors, dancers, yogis, faeries and generally loving beings. Our mission is to spread love and healing through random acts of kindness and creativity mixed with a bit of the ol’ sexy-sexy. Look for our mini practice and play workshops including Tribal Mid-Eastern dance, poi, and hoop as well as the Ripe and Juicy watermelon parade for an afternoon refresher of alcohol filled fruit transported through time and space by the luscious, titillating, sultry, and studly residents.

The Bracelet Station - Since one of the main principles of burning is the act of gifting, what better way to fulfill this principle than by creating and gifting a colorful beaded bracelet made by YOU? It’s simple—make a bracelet and gift it to a fellow Mysterian. And who knows, you may receive one in return! Our bracelets are not only fun to wear, but are incredibly fun and easy to make. So this year, let a bracelet symbolize your Transformus experience. The Bracelet Station is open to Mysterians of all ages and all artistic abilities.

Radical Faerie Camp - Many Radical Faeries are queer men, and we also include men who prefer to use any other moniker to describe themselves, as well as women who are Radical Faeries because they just feel they are, plus people who choose not to be called men or women, and beings who choose not to be called people. Faeries are organized as a group attempting to create community out of ritual and cooperation, except for faeries who are attempting to create community out of subversion of process and structure, as well as some faeries who wish to create chaos, often celebrating it, often not admitting it. (loosely adapted from the classic definition written by Constance Craving).

Der Loge Baphomet - The Baphomet Lodge (Est. 1314) is a celebration of Life, Life, and More Life!! In honour of our Templar forefathers, we will eat the lamb and kiss the goat for all Life is pure joy. The word of Sin is Restriction. Damn because for the dog that he is. Listen to or share stories while you chew on your thoughts or perhaps on some yummy Swedish Pancakes - for which you can debate a wide variety of toppings! Mull over some spicy spiked mulled cider brewed in the Cauldron of the Prophesy of Decreased Inhibitions. Well-mannered arguments and confusing (il)logical discussions are frequently available! We¢d love to be told about your Transformed Revelations. New this year, share your talents or learn Poi, Staff, Hoops, Tribal Dance and other fun in our Chill Spin Skillz Exchange Area - which is being co-sponsored with Ripe and Juicy and with lots of help from others. It will be a place to come try out a new trick or help someone learn an old one, a place to get your groove on and chill out, a place to exchange skills, interests and ideas. There will be vaguely scheduled sessions for various art forms including poi, staff, double staff, hooping, tribal dance, and (almost) anything else anyone wants to organize. The Love Boat - This year the Love Boat will be docked at Bahama Mamas for your drinking and cruising pleasure. Captain Gizmo not responsible if Monkeypoo makes you walk the plank or exiles you to Survivor Island. With increased floatation installed, the Love Boat can carry up to 15 passengers. So gather your campmates together and come by for a cruise. Theme Cruises highly encouraged. We don't need no stinking schedules. Just come on by. Can't miss it. Look for a boat with a bed on it.

Hot Witch's Brews - That’s hot witches as in, gee I’m hot, I think I’ll go dip in the lake; or wow, that witch is hot - or hot witches brew as in, this tea is hot; or the hang over tea was a hot item on Sunday morning! Here you find witches of all kinds: faerie witches, kitty cat witches, crafty witches, green witches, hoodoo witches, celtic warrior witches, alchemy witches, gothic witches… all offering you a taste of our specialties. Possible potions include kava and damiana cordial, hang-over tea, wormwood tincture, woad or flying ointment. And dried herbs to concoct a tea, rinse, incense, or mojo potion for you. S.O.S. (Science of Smoking) - Smoking in the Capital of Hookahstan will have a large, open, shared space filled with pillows, hammocks, and other relaxed seating. We'll be offering the use and enjoyment of our various hookahs, as well as finger foods, drinks, and nap space. Music and bubbles and smoke will be drifting out of our camp as we welcome all Mysterians who wander our way.
Fire Drums - A place where the bridge between drummers and fire dancers is made.. This is a zero tolerance camp for pre planning and egos bring your drum bring your fire gear and see what happens!

Paparazzi Palace - Come by the Palace and be as daring as you care to be for the camera. We'll supply the lights and the camera, you supply the action. The Paparazzi are here to take your photos and create the 2007 Transformus photo badges, ready in just a couple of hours.

Tie-Dye Vikings - Landing on the shores of Mysteria, from the mist arises a band of tie-dye clad Vikings! What other kind of Viking would you expect in our fair city? This rowdy crew of heathens can be found either raiding nearby camps (all in good fun of course) or feasting in the halls of Valhalla. We come to pillage your women and rape your foodstores.. or something like that, we don't remember. Raise your drinking horn and it shall be filled with mead, at least while it lasts. And by then it's time to pillage some more. On the fields of the mountain our Valkyries shall gather Mysteria's heroic warriors worthy to join us in our revelry. We drink to many things: the Gods, our ancestors, our mightiest deeds - but beware what you say, your Toasts, Boasts, and Oaths are spoken in the presence of the Gods, and you are honor bound to your words! Dirty Southern Village (including Puzzled, Ho-me Wreckers Saloon, Land Far Away and more) - The infamous Dirty Southern Burners - loud, proud, and not afraid to get all kinds of nasty. From the moment you enter our space, you will notice the incense of Nag Champa lingering in the air and the indulgent vibrations of our sensual space. You will be lead into a sacred space to be lovingly bathed and gently dried to the sweetest freshness. Your thirst will be quenched with French champagne while you nibble on fresh strawberries and San Francisco chocolates. Your ears will be delighted to sweet music, and you'll have your choice from several masseuses. The heights of your eroticism will be stimulated in several different but delightful modalities.
Seeing a bigger now, your exploration zone widens to fully encompass the burn experience. You're life flashes before your eyes, and you come to the realization that there is a huge life delineation by attending your first burn. You can sum up everything by “things that happened before your first burn” and “things that happened after your first burn.”
ART INSTALLATIONS
Time Garden
Amos Gaynes & Joel Horne – Asheville, North Carolina
Our vision is to create an interactive environment based around an array of mysterious glowing fountains, arranged in a space which invites Mysterians to stay, play, and contemplate. The fountains will create a display of falling water droplets that appear to slow down, reverse, and even come to a dead halt in mid-air as the observer approaches. He or she can then play with this water droplet by, for example, slicing it in half with a twig or letting it splash off his or her fingers and observing the droplet’s effects as if it were frozen in time.
Re-Transformus Maze
Fiery Bitch Skunkworks – Decatur, Georgia
Each of us walks a path that seeks something that we define in our respective vocabularies as knowledge, inspiration, revelation and enlightenment. The Fiery Bitch Skunkworks aspire in this installation to simulate this shared, but individual search for inner meaning through an interactive creation that is part labyrinth – the search within ourselves – and part (re)birth experience – our search within the world. Walking the “Re-Transformus” maze will provide the willing Burner with the symbolic and simulated experience of the inner transformation that occurs through participation in our community.
Three Gates
Jeremy “Gilbot” Gilley – Asheville, North Carolina
Much like the Japanese Shinto tradition in which the red “Toji” gates delineate the boundary between the material world and the spirit world, I wish for these gates to behave as a mechanism to both revere and harness the sublime energies of what I feel to be some of Mysteria’s most magical locations. Each gate will be built to evoke the properties of a unique thematic identity. These gates will be built for transport and reuse, extending their relevance to any special spot where they may be embraced.
Miss Transformus Pageant
Stacycats – New York, New York
Not your mother's beauty pageant, this participatory exhibition of beauty and talent is open to women and men of any sexual preference and identity. Anyone can enter and anyone can win (plastic surgery, eating disorders, Vaselined teeth, and double-sided tape not required). In the end, everyone wins by participating, as no one can take away the title you give yourself!
Elemental Temple
“Dave the Rave” Wills – Charleston, South Carolina
Four columns tower over participants forming a temple based in unity and interaction. Each column will feature one of the four distinct elements: fire and air being outwardly reaching elements, reaching up and out, earth and water turning inward and downward. At night the temple comes alive as a gathering place filled with aural and visual creativity.
Community Theater

A team of Burning thespians are working together to provide a community theatre for Mysteria presenting a tryptique of magnificent shows for our fellow revelers to enjoy and participate in: The Legend of the Bacchae, Pandora’s Box, and an original work titled Mythos.
Sense Space
Talula Rachel – Austin, Texas
Sense Space is a place to explore the senses. This installation piece is a collection of things to discover: jars with various scents, instruments and music to stimulate the ears, a display with cut-outs to explore tactile sensations, and Burners of all varieties to see and experience your senses with.
Gateway of Delight
Stina Loewe – Asheville, North Carolina
Deep in the forest, large fabric panels hanging on bamboo poles are suspended by ropes and supported by trees. Hung in succession like tapestries with puzzle shapes removed, they are layered in space forming a three-dimensional visual puzzle. The journey through the installation creates a visual, textural, and sensual experience for the navigator. After passing through the panels Mysterians will encounter a large offering of the shapes that have been cut from the tapestries (pre-pinned with safety pins for easy attachment to one’s cloak). These pieces of fabric flags allow us to claim the shape of our experience and share it with others.
Waste Stream Dream
Jeannie Hacker-Cerulean – Chattanooga, Tennessee
"Waste Stream Dream" is an original interactive theatrical created for the Mysteria community at Transformus for 2007. The play has an environmental theme: simple change can make a big difference. Based on the idea of 'the butterfly effect' we hope to excite our audience and participants enough to support them in their small world environmental efforts. The Mysteria community can rehearse with us and join in our performance by dancing, drumming, hooping, parading, operating puppets, acting, wearing costumes and masks. Lower Lake Gateway
Katherine Bender – Marshall, North Carolina
Walking around the lower lake at Deerfields, coming from the dock towards the Pavilion, you approach a pointed tip of fabric that dives into the earth. 20 feet high and almost 50 feel long this gate is formed from fabric. Juxtaposed against the Blue Ridge Mountains that surround it, this gateway demarcates a transition between spaces; instigating a physical and mental passing through time and space.
Globes of Light
Danielle Bovee – Atlanta, Georgia
Imagine the branches of a tree, laden with glowing fruit; or rather, hung with iridescent spheres that sparkle during the day and emit multicolored light at night. No it’s not Christmas, these Globes of Light will be lit on Friday and Saturday nights in the apple orchard surrounding our Burn field at Deerfields.
