This weekend I felt his presence very strongly for the first time since June: down in the basement, next to the boiler, which always was his favorite spot.

I was actually going to ask you if your kitty was named Oscar. I think we are going with Oscar for our new kitty. It's the only thing he has responded to. Sorry to steal it! It'll be in honor of your Oscar :)
