This morning in traffic I saw someone in the car next to me wearing a surgical mask.

Now, I understand the swine flu is spreading like wildfire and it's only a matter of time before it hits Maryland, but as of yet there are no reported cases; furthermore, I may be no public health official qualified to make authoritative pronouncements on the subject, but really, folks, I think it's safe to say you're not going to catch anything sitting in a car all by yourself with the windows rolled up.

It is of course possible they were wearing the mask for another reason.
