I'm not sure I like making hairpin lace. It looks pretty, but it takes forever and it's very hard on the wrists.

Stitch Diva calls hairpin lace "the ultimate stitch craft for the modern crocheter who wants fast results." Now, I know speed is relative and maybe I'm a faster stitcher than average, but I can't imagine how having to flip a cumbersome loom and pivot a hook between brass rods can be considered a quick and easy exercise by anyone.

I cranked out enough for a large scarf in under an hour, once. If you can get into the swing of it, it's no more difficult than crocheting in general. It's putting the hairpin lace pieces together that sucks massive ass.

One person in my SnB was doing this a while back. I like it en principe but don't really want to wear any.
