What to watch?
Now that the water ballet is over, I am looking forward to some quality downtime of knitting and sloth and teevee. What should I watch? I feel like I've seen everything on Netflix streaming ... I need recommendations!
Shows I've already watched every episode of and really enjoyed (within the past year):
House of Cards (US version)
Orange is the New Black
Hell on Wheels (both seasons)
Call the Midwife (the season already on Netflix, plus the second season which just somehow magically appeared on my hard drive one day)
Ripper Street
Bob's Burgers
Oddities
The IT Crowd
The Vikings (also not sure how that one appeared on my hard drive, but lo and behold there it was!)
Torchwood (even though the last season SUCKED)
Friday Night Lights
Sherlock
Shows I made myself plod through to the bitter end, though I didn't think much of:
Copper
World Without End
The Crimson Petal and the White
Nurse Jackie
Weeds (actually didn't get through the fifth season, but by then I'd seen enough)
Shows I liked at first but eventually got so bad I gave up on them:
Misfits
Heroes
Spartacus
Weeds
Being Human (UK version)
Lie to Me
The Walking Dead
Shows I started but could not get into:
Luther
Pretty Little Liars (sorry, Miriam, it was just too stupid)
Snuffbox
The West Wing
Hemlock Grove
Archer
House of Cards (UK version)
Bones
House
Six Feet Under
Ongoing shows I'm all caught up with:
Madmen
Game of Thrones
Vampire Diaries
Hannibal
The Killing (up through last season)
True Blood (up through last season)
Dexter (up through last season)
Downton Abbey
Justified
American Horror Story (first season)
Lost Girl
(BTW, I don't have cable, just Netflix, and now that I get my internet through Xfinity, no morebit-torrenting shows magically appearing on my hard drive anymore)

(I should probably mention that I'm not limited to streaming.)

We've started going back to watch Black Adder, and I'm now trying to track down "The Thick of It" due to the new Doctor Who casting.
I am oddly amused by "Father Ted," the Britcom from a while back.
I'll second "Orphan Black" for you.
"World Without End": I actually got that book to read on the plane back from Italy and finished it, then turned on the miniseries. BAD IDEA JEANS. Couldn't stomach more than 20 minutes of the show.

I've heard amazing things about 'Downton Abbey' (Maggie Smith, being snarky in a costume drama. What's not to love?) but I hadn't started on that yet. Ditto, 'Torchwood', but for completely different reasons.
The UK (original) 'House of Cards' series, from what I've seen, is pretty engrossing if one can ignore the dated styles and such. I've seen the first several episodes. If you like 'Madmen' and the US 'House of Cards', then you'd probably like the UK version too? Or was the US version simply a remake of the UK version?

Could not get into the UK version of House of Cards.

I will occasionally pull that episode up on Netflix and JUST watch that scene.

Home Movies if you've never seen it
There was a recent British sci fi show Misfits that I want to watch

(I eventually cancelled my Hulu Plus membership anyway because the connectivity was just so lousy.)

I do not know if these are available on Netflix
I think that if you have not seen Firefly, you should see Firefly. Then after that you should try Castle and Suits.
I recommended seeing Firefly first because of the cast overlap with the other two shows. Castle makes a number of references to Firefly. Suits contained a cast member from Firefly, and then some of the Game of Thrones cast members come into play in the most recent season which would not necessarily be on Netflix yet.
I think you should try The Wire. I don't know if you will like it or not, but you should try it anyway.
Re: I do not know if these are available on Netflix
I watched a few episodes of Castle, but didn't get into it. I probably didn't give it enough of a chance.
Will check out Life on Mars and and Suits. Thanks!

You have watched more things than I actually know about, so I'm not sure I have anything left to recommend you. I guess..Futurama eps you haven't seen or something?

Regarding Archer: some of the supporting characters get more and more off the chain as it goes on, like Pam.
Also, Aisha Tyler=awesome. :-D

Red Riding is good (and has the curly one from Misfits) but very strange and dark. A little Lynch like.
The Hour is quite good, Dominic West is in it, based on the new BBC news format in the 1950s. Also features Peter Capaldi.
