J.J. obviously knew the most about music, but Martha was so girl-next-door-but-slightly-crazy that I loved her.

I second the Dave Kendall vote for overall, but I had to pick Nina Blackwood because at that young, impressionable time, I had teased-hair-rock-girl aspirations. Martha and Alan are close runners-up though.
